OK, I May be headed RichB, Kymer's, RickyG's -Direction Anybodys else I forgot and am Truley sorry for that, Crossbow may be in my future. I Got the champ permit, I got a quad. So What am I waiting for ??. Im in no hurry, I know a couple of bear, Elk, Deer spots I could maybe ambush one on the way to water, I still have the problem of recovery of a critter, So Id have to take someone with me, A bear or an elk would prolly not take much convincing to someone wanting to go and campout and hunt, anyone interested ?? As I said Im not in a hurry.

My next problem is I dont have a crossbow, a compound Yes, But no crossbow. Im not looking on heading in RickyG's direction as to price tag, Maybe a mid range, top preformer CB. I got a buddy with a 10 point and he loves his, but he lives 1200 miles away, to far to check out ! Any Suggestions ??? I think I got a few years left in me to go and do this, The wife would be happy to see me go on some more hunt trips, HER favorite saying is: " Dont Let the door Hit you in the Arse on the way out ".

For how infrequent you will use it. An RTH ready to hunt type of package for 300 bucks will be plenty. Not to mention we really don’t know the future of it during archery only season. We are just speculating from meeting minutes and nothing penned and signed

Agreed bear. I wouldn't drop a ton of cash. You won't be shooting daily I would assume.

If you get a tag in my neck of the woods, I'm always happy to help. I just made a new game recovery "go-bag" that I carry in my truck. I come across more people who just hit wild game and have no interest in turning them in to tasty cuisine than I can count. I've got everything I need to break down an animal including the clothes and game bags on hand now. Just let me know!

SO what about permits or Drs Approval ? Does my champ permit allow Cross Bows on my quad or front window discharge for any hunt? You guys are right, I think Ill wait and see what happens this year, HMMM, An Air Bow, that might be a Good Alternative in the future. Its not that my Injurys are Fun to deal with, quite the opposite, but, Im not quite ready to quit hunting. Thanks Guys for offering to go with, and Nathan, one year I hope soon Ill draw that 3A hunt, and then Ill need you more then ever.

No, they will not be grandfathered in.

Directly from AZGFD: "the intent of the proposed rulemaking is to no longer allow the use of a crossbow during an archery-only season. While you will not be able to use your crossbow during an archery-only hunt, it is still a valid method of take for Ham and General seasons when authorized under R12-4-304."
