Well another javelina season has come and gone. I was fortunate enough to have drawn two tags this year, one for the archery season and the other for the general season.
The archery hunt did not go quite as planned. I hunted all three weekends, 7 days total, and while I did have two opportunities, well let's say that the population is the same as when I started.
The general hunt did not have the blue-bird weather the early hunt had. With winds, rain, and cold weather it was pretty hard to glass up any hogs. But as luck would have it we did find one small herd nestled down in a choked filled draw keeping out of the wind. We circled around keeping the wind in our face and were able to approach to 21 yards.
The 32-40 Winchester did it's job and the rest is history.
