Job Description

Are you passionate about antiques, and their historical significance ? Do you have a knowledge and interest in a wide variety of collectibles from every era? In your free time do you find yourself watching Antiques Roadshow and Pawn Stars? Is your idea of decorating your home, picking out just the right eclectic mixture of old, new, and everything in between? Does your description of a perfect weekend include combing out-of-the-way antique and thrift shops? Do your Facebook and Twitter accounts look like a couple of What's-New-In-Everything-Old newsfeeds?

If you answered yes to most of these questions, you sound like a good fit for our Team! Pot Of Gold Estate Liquidations, LLC is a small, family owned and operated, auction house in Avondale, AZ, with a huge nationwide online presence. We are looking for someone to help on our team, who will require very little training, and can help us continue to grow our live and online auction to rival that of Sotheby's and Christie's (well...eventually they will fear us). We pride ourselves in being able to appeal to the entire spectrum from the most experienced collector, to the most newbie novice to the world of collectibles, and everything in between. We are looking for someone with a passion and enthusiasm to be a perpetual student of the ever-changing world of antiques and collectibles, and who has the heart to serve-never-sell. What Are We Looking For?

We must appeal equally to potential consignors, who are looking for the highest possible selling price, and potential bidders, who are hoping to buy items at bargain prices, so our staff must portray the utmost in honesty, integrity, and consistency in offering factual information - never a sales pitch slanted toward either audience.

We serve people who are looking for a safe buying and selling experience, so supplying reliable information and quality items require you to have a broad base of knowledge and familiarity with collectibles of every era.

Previous experience with online selling and auction formats. As an example, our format is similar to listing items on Ebay, Craigslist, Offerup, etc.

Since we pride ourselves on service, excellent customer service skills are imperative.
We serve a broad base of first time bidders and consignors, so a friendly and approachable demeanor is a must.

Cleanliness of our workplace and items, and the proper display of those items, is extremely important in conveying our message of quality, so organization and cleanliness are a daily endeavor.

Having superior communication skills are important to helping understand customers' needs and aiding new bidders in navigating the online bidding process.
Our auction team uses a computerized cataloging program, so you will need to have excellent computer skills.

Communication between Team Members is something we highly value, so you must have text and email capabilities.

Ability to work within a cohesive team atmosphere. We enjoy being a social group off-hours, and are not looking for the Lone Ranger.

Knowledge of who we are and what we stand for, our culture is rich and we value it.
Appreciation of who our sponsors are - our customers come in simply because our sponsors trust us, so it is imperative to be able to relate to those customers.

We place a high value on flexibility, and hold our auctions on Tuesday evening, as well as occasionally having additional auctions on Saturdays, therefore your ability and willingness to work Tuesday evenings and occasional Saturdays is important.
And, of course, you must have reliable transportation, the ability to work with no benefits, and maintain a professional appearance are all important factors as well.

What Will You Be Doing Here
Catalog development and production: you must be excellent with the written word and keyword descriptors, as you will be writing the description of a wide variety of diverse items to appeal to bidders, as well as help build our online presence via SEO.

Nationwide customer service and bidder consultant: you must have exceptional communication skills, and convey a friendly and energetic presence that is eager to serve and solve.

Consignor concierge: you must possess a keen eye for quality and a distinguishing ability to enthusiastically illustrate the benefits of our services to potential sellers.

Serve walk-in customers, helping them to consign items they want to sell or preview items they hope to bid on.

Operate an online auction cataloging program, similar to the fields you would find while listing items on a system like Ebay.

Filling out paperwork and inventorying items for consignors.

Keeping a tidy and clean storefront and work space - we do not have janitors.

Working Auction evenings every 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month and the occasional Saturday all-day auctions.
