On the Res. No guns allowed without proper licensing/permits. Carry a gun and it will be confiscated and you will probably be cited so it won't be of help when you need it.

Let me clarify by saying that I don't know exactly where this happened but the fact that both Apache Reservations are involved makes me think it was on or bordering their land.

The White and Black Rivers both run through Apache Reservation lands and the convergence of those two rivers has been designated as the beginning of the Salt River, so I'd suspect this attack was somewhere in that vicinity. There's a pretty heavy population of bears in that region too.

Carry BEAR Spray if on reservation, it will work on lions and Humans as well.
