Many of you may already know this, but sharing for those who may not.
Plastic drywall anchors seem to work pretty good as .22 snapcaps, and are a lot less expensive.

Yeah, I can’t seem to hit the broad side of a barn with these snapcap substitutes, but they do a decent job of protecting my firing pin and chamber mouths from damage when dry firing so I’m sticking with ‘em. 😁

In addition to dry fire practice, they also work pretty well for function checks.
