  1. ok here is the story from Don told you it was a good one and the pixs got to love those 2 lol enjoy it.

Don & Page got these Merriams birds on May 6th during there turkey hunt in Units 17A-17B. Page's was the largest, weighing 18 lbs. 12 oz sporting a 10 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. She got it at 29 yards with her last year's Christmas present, a Remington 1187 20 ga, shooting Rem 3" magnum #6 Hevi-shot (Don was the 1st person in arizona to use Hevi-shot to take a turkey) G&F said her bird was 3-4 years old.

Don's bird weighed 12 lbs 4 oz and he got him at 39 yards.... there is more to that the story.... it ended up taing three shots from a Remington 1100 12 ga. shooting Winchester Western 3" loads with 1 17/8 oz copper #6. Don's bird had a 9 " beard and was two years old.

Both birds were taken in Units they had never hunted before, so without the help of one of his guides (Eric Hively) and some helpful conversations with the Wildlife Manager of these units, Darren Tucker. things might not have turned out so well. Page got her bird while still sitting at a stock tank with a decoy spread and using his Fox Pro digital electronic caller. he also used a mouth call anyway and was just walking around calling when he found them (or they found him) anyway it was a fun hunt,
