I also recall hearing in a video on the subject, that any optics on a handgun have the same restrictions now--it is a very slippery slope. While anyone that hunts might not have a "brace" on their weapon, that is not really the point of my thinking. They are currently LEGAL tools for anyone to use. The government (anti-gun side) have shown their intent many times. Opening the door even a crack, they will charge forward and knock down the house.
The optics question is a little tricky. The ATF was/is trying to define certain optics as "rifle" optics and some as "pistol" optics. So, a vortex venom is fine on your pistol, but an EoTech 512 is not. IIRC, that was part of where their giant if/then form got so many bad comments.
Below is the information on this ruling. I do believe the 5th circuit, and maybe the 9th will intervene on this under WV vs EPA. GoA I believe already has suit ready to go and just needs to file.

Also, anecdotally, I have seen the brace concept used as intended and for hunting by some fellas that lost arms/ hands in Afghanistan. That little strap of Velcro helps a lot.

I wish they would post pics, You know " A Pic is worth a Thousand words". Instead of 263 pgs of Gibberish, LOL....
They did post pics as "examples" but as you know with many government agencies it is very gray. It will always be gray, it will always be open up to ambiguity and a jury of your peers. Essentially any braced firearm will be an SBR once the rule is published, (might be today) withstanding any stays or injunctions. Honestly they might have us with this one. The bump stock by the 5th circuit lays it out that they can't redefine their own definition of a machine gun. But the brace is a bit on the fence, but then again they flip flopped on it many times.
This further points out the worse advocates for gun rights are gun groups LOL. All the morons on youtube and their cheeky look at my brace wink wink wink. f00king idiots f00k influencers and youtubers bunch of pos

10 years, 10 grand. You can rest assured, they've used financial tracking, internet monitoring and informants to know who has what.
There is no possible way anyone has a clue what is owned and by whom with private party sales like we have. This isn't the UK. You can buy a gun anywhere from anyone. On the reverse, you can claim you've sold said gun to anyone, anywhere.

I lost everything i owned in a house fire in 2019.

Did you read the part about INTERNET MONITORING? Everyone who posts things like "I lost all mine in a boating accident ..." is making sure they are on the lists.

Gotta change it to "in minecraft" at the end of your sentences, that's what the cool kids are saying these days.

Por ejemplo
"I bought three braces at the gunshow.... In minecraft".
(my statement is purely for educational purposes. I'm too broke to buy any fun toys, dont shoot my dog ATF)

no one is coming knocking. they will just lie and wait. same goes for machine guns, silencers and what not. people tend to snitch on themselvs

In their giant document of self-serving gray area - they state they are allocating zero dollars for enforcement. This tells you two things, they are just waiting for them to be discovered as an "enhancer" to other crimes (related or not) and/or waiting for people to report others.

There was a local competitive shooter / occasional youtuber / local firearms company employee who raised a valid point. There were probably hundreds of thousands if not millions of pistol braced ARs sold during to the pandemic that were bought by people who aren't "gun people" and who are unaware this is happening. Since they don't follow the gun community / gun rights community - they probably have zero idea they could potentially be a felon when this goes through and the "grace" period expires.

I would like clarification, providing anyone here can provide any legal documentation / resources on the following;

Under the current 120-day brace ruling recently enacted by the BATF, is there any language that permits any of our government agencies from exercising the use of Braces?

Some of you may feel compelled to lump me into the Ted Nugent crowd for my comments, but IMHO, all law-abiding citizens (not previously convicted of an aggravated felony), are guaranteed under the 2nd Amendment to possess any and all firearms that our various government agencies could use against the Citizens, including any / all attachable hardware, such as Braces. It's my opinion that if the government can use fully auto rifles against us, why are they forbidden to use by law abiding gun owners? That's brazenly tyrannical, IMO. My statements stray slightly away from the original post, but... I ramble.
