Finally got my start hunting in late October/early November been out hunting multiple times since then. I thought it was gonna be easy to find rabbits every time I was out but the rabbit density was much less than I expected. Anyway, after multiple unsuccessful hunts, whether it was due to not finding any rabbits or blowing a shot opportunity by scaring them off before I could draw down on them, I finally made it happen today.

I had a chance to go out this morning and thought I'd see a whole bunch due to the weather warming up. When I decided to head back to the car after not seeing anything, I got about 1/4 mile and noticed some movement. It turned out to be a jack that I fortunately did not scare off. I snuck up on him and aimed and stayed completely still. When he came out of cover a little bit, I shot. He didn't drop after a few seconds so I shot again and he dropped.
I butchered him up and have him in the sous vide right now.

Sous vide jackrabbit, sounds interesting. Let us know how it turns out.
Used tenderizer, pepper, garlic powder and sous vide it at 145 for 2.5 hours, finished off with a 5 minute broil in the air fryer. I like the gamey flavor so I thought it was very good, much better than I was expecting. It was a pretty small jack though so I will have to go down south for the big antelope jacks at some point now.
