Reason I am asking is because I am looking to hire one of these for a New Mexico Elk hunt. I have 3 hunts from sept 24 to oct 16 and don’t think I will have the time to scout this area or I figured hiring a guide was cheaper than hiring a divorce attorney. Not sure the wife will allow me to sneak off for 2 more weekends of scouting. Spoke with all 3 of them and checked out reviews on sites, was just seeing if anyone had any personal dealings with any of them. All things being equal on websites and reviews will just go with my gut on this I guess.
However, a guide would need to be hired every year a new hunt is acquired. A divorce attorney is one and done. When weighing these options, one must count the extendable expenses. Lol. Call the guides and interview them, give them your expectations, and ask for references. It’s a job interview.
