Gun safe questions

Discussion in 'Firearms, Shooting, Optics, & Outdoor Gear' started by DutchmanAZ, Feb 1, 2007.

  1. The warden has kinda put her foot down about "all those guns" cluttering up the closet....anyone got any recommendations
on where to pick up one at a decent price? I'm a cheap SOB and hate to pay retail if I can help it, although I do want a good
    safe.
I'm looking for something in the 20 gun capacity range (gotta leave some room for expansion :D .) Would appreciate any advice anyone may have.
    Thanks

Sorry, can't help ya. I would imagine you can expect to pay at least $1,000 for what your looking for.

  4. Thanks for the replies. I've been looking at them at Sportsmans but will have to wait awhile.
I can't get one any time real soon - just trying to get ideas for later. I'm hoping to run across one
at a yard sale or other type of second hand deal at best, or buy at a good discount somewhere.
Like I said - it'll be awhile - but a guy can dream right? :)

  6. I picked mine up at The Safe Store off of Indian School Rd. I bought a "last year's" model and saved about $500. Still ended up shelling out around $1600 but it is worth it. My new guns could be replaced but the hand-me-downs from my great-grampa, grampa, etc can never be replaced if they are stolen. My wife told me I couldn't buy anymore guns until I bought a safe, we didn't have any room left under the bed - I love my wife.......:D

  7. any opinions? Part of me is afraid to get away from name brands, but the practical side of me questions it.
Hell - wallmart jeans work purty good...

I think the Patriot looks like a great safe - for a reasonable price.

Just for shish'n'giggles, I wouldn't mind seeing one, just to be able to critique it. :

I'm purdy sure if either of us bought one, we wouldn't ever regret it. Anything beats my Wal-Mart Sentry safe.
