Also read an article on ASAT camo stating it provides a depth of field illusion and does well breaking up the human outline. Anyone use this camo type?
I like sitka.... i mean who doesn't? Its cool looking.
But the best way i have found to break my outline are by wearing different styles top and bottom. Doing thay, i have found tends to take away the shape of the body. For example when i look at color combinations in photo a green top such as the air force or army digitals, and say a digital desert or marpat it looks like a sage bush in a patch of desert grass or dirt.
Doing that and remaining as still as i can and remembering to move slowly to look elsewhere or get up. Its the sudden rapid movements that will give you away.
mostly play the wind more than trying to think too much about expensive camo. i left the side by side at a cattle pond, sat in a blind. they never cared.
ASAT is Pricey. Any earth tones broken up into different patterns will work, Shop Goodwill or Yard sales. Movement is the killer of elk seeing you, stand still,, sit still, you will be OK.
I’ve been in street clothes and the wind in my favor and had 10 minute stare contests with all kind of different animals. If you don’t move you’re good, well, except coyotes. They are gone in a flash.
Exactly! Do I wear camo, yes! Is it needed , no! I wear the Kuiu and Sitka cause of the quality of the material and how it fits , not cause it makes me invisible. Want to be invisible? play the wind and limit your movement to nothing.
