Shot him at ~11 AM yesterday (Friday) at 80 yards. Only javelina we saw the 1 1/2 days we hunted. Wind kicked up pretty strong today.

Looks sorta like a redone carcano or argentine mauser, Im leaning towards Argentina but I cant be sure. Its had some work

Thanks folks. RickyG is correct. It’s an 1891 Argentine Mauser rebarreled to .300 Savage. I bought it on a whim from a gunsmith in the the east valley last year.

Regarding the questions on which game unit, I typically don’t share my hunt unit info on the internet. I’ll happily share tips, techniques, gear, etc. (although I’m nowhere near being considered an expert hunter), but location - even the GMU - is something I usually keep close to my chest on public forums. I will share that it was a left over tag, so that narrows it down a little.
