Stolen Cameras

995 Views 50 Replies 17 Participants Last post by  az-jim
I went out last week for short trip to set cameras out, went back yesterday evening to replace sd cards, No Cameras, Gone, someone had cut the LOCKs- Big Locks- off the chain holding them to tree and off they went.

Had my name etched to inside of lid under label, so I find them that stole them, Beware you aint going to be walking ever again, I cant standup for thieves. They were not high dollar setup, Bushnell's, but was what I had. They were mine, not some tweekers running around trying to fund his next fix.

I think it's kind of a free-for-all now with the new camera laws. I'm removing my name from mine.

Yeah, ever since the camera "ban" started, people take it upon themselves to enforce the law, even if no laws are being broken.

You might want to call local GFD just in case they took them, or if they happen to find them.

I've had my birds watching cameras stolen before. It sucks

sorry to hear....we seem to be living in a very lawless society today, with the exception of those that do live by the law--if that makes sense

It isn't just today. There have been thieves, vandals, etc, for as long as there have been people.

And they exist throughout the animal kingdom. It's not just homosapiens

I've put airpods inside all mine.
If I get a ping, the race is on.

That sucks.

I started putting mine 12+ feet up. Without a ladder or tree spikes, pretty hard to get up those big ole ponderosas.

Airpods......airpods! Damn autocorrect. I fund these little tools pretty valuable for all sorts of tracking.

Need to put cameras on the cameras and hide them well. Actually putting them up high is a good idea.

LOL!
Well, nothing. Since it's illegal now.
But yes, as @Savageman2506 said, point it down. I just shove a stick behind it to get the angle.

Airtags!
GPS tracker about the size of a casino chip.
Pings you with coordinates when anyone with an iPhone gets within range.
Battery good for over a year.
We had 2 items involuntarily relocated last year and in both instances a sheriff was able to have a reasonable discussion with the folks at the final GPS location and we got our stuff back.
