Texas Star

So I mentioned to a few of you I was building a 22lr caliber Texas Star, among some other 22 targets (which are almost ready to cut). I finished it up and took it out for a trial run today. It’s harder than it looks but fun, this was the best of my worst lol, the rest were just bad. I’ve never shot a Texas star before so it was good but not great. I used the SW model 41 on this one.

I've done a double star spinning opposite directions with the bottom plate on each as the mandatory first targets. Pretty challenging, but oh so fun! I think my best time is just north of 15 seconds, but one guy I shoot with regularly cleans it in 6-8 seconds. Absolutely incredible to watch this guy shoot.

6-8 seconds? Throwing grenades at the thing doesnt count.

Right??? This guy uses a Staccato, which is just on a whole ‘nuther level of shooting. That thing doesn’t move at all when you pull the trigger. Unreal!

Guns like that, I almost wonder if I actually want to shoot one. It’s like cocain, I never tried it because I might like it and I can’t afford it lol

There's no "might" about it. But at 4-5k, there's also not a snowball's chance in hell...

To be fair, this guy and his dad manufacture their own steel for shooting, and invite a select group to shoot with them about once a month. They run it like a competition every time. It's pretty amazing what they've been able to fabricate. It's quite challenging and a great way to use 200 rounds of 9mm. Maybe he's intending to compete at some point. He's certainly good enough at this point.
