And for me it was killing a coyote with a .22LR. Took a short walk in the desert last Saturday early evening looking for rabbits. Didn’t see any but two coyotes crossed my path. One stood broadside at 30 yards. First shot dropped it, second shot expired it.

Will likely not try that again with a .22 rimfire but I was impressed with the lethality of that high-velocity hollow point.

My uncle has killed dozens of coyotes with .22's. Headshots or right behind the shoulder like a deer. It's tough to do in thick country because they don't bleed well and they're hard to follow up on with a heart/lung shot, but in open country it works like a charm.

Most of the coyotes he killed with .22's were in his backyard.
