Veteran's Day

Discussion in 'Community Campfire' started by Desert Rat, Nov 11, 2006.

  1. Please take a minute today to remember those who have fallen so that we may live amongst the freedoms that we enjoy.

    In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

I think LTC McRea is disappointed today.

  3. Chief,

I agree, there arnt many of us left who still have the faith.

And from all of us within this house. Thank you all who have served in war and peace. We are indebted to you and those who served and still serve beside you. Thank you for making this country. Now all we have to do is fix it.
