Guided hunts is a fast track to learning a lot more a lot faster than out on your own stumbling around.
I was out on my own stumbling around for years and learned a lot about hunting. It can, however, be a long learning curve.

To be honest there are bear in about every unit along and above and below the Rim as well as the SE parts of the state. I have seen bear in 7 both E and W. 27, 1, 6A, 5BS, 35A and some others that I am trying to recall. We have a pretty good bear population. I saw a sow in 7W that had three cubs and scared the hell out of me one year because when she winded me I was not sure if she was going to take the cubs and run or come at me. She took the cubs and ran. Boy was I relieved.

Welcome to the frustrating adventures of bear hunting. I got a bear 2 years ago. It’s a tough hujt and can take many many many many days to find them.
Good luck and have fun.
I know where a number of them habit, I have just never had a hankering to hunt or eat bear. I know some love it but kinda like killing a rattlesnake. What for?

I personally love to hunt bears. It’s quite a challenging hunt IMO
Except when you hunt grizzlies and then like one outfitter said “ sometimes you get the bear, and sometimes the bear gets you.” It can turn out wrong in an instant.
